Heritage
The heritage projects of River Cultures Festival are inspired by the rich immigrant history of the London Docklands. Rivers represent national identities and are highways of leisure and trade.
I am an Indian Dancer in London
The role of the Indian dancer working in London has altered along with the trends that have changed people’s perceptions of Indian dance. Some are critical of present attitudes, some embrace them whole heartedly, but all have a fervent belief in the future of Indian dance.

Spinning Lifestyles
Spinning Lifestyles records and documents, through photographs, video and aural recordings, a canvas of how the histories and heritage of an immigrant community, in this case, Bangladeshi, are experienced within the family. It will focus on how different generations of the Bengali community adapt their lifestyles as they face the demands of new situations, ongoing challenges, differences in attitudes, beliefs and expectations within their own family units, in the context of their host community in East London.
